Party Corps 2.0
Over the last three years, as an informal social network Party Corps, threw events for 100-450 guests each, raising money and support for amazing Bay Area Organizations. We threw events to benefit an urban farm providing fresh fruits and vegetables to underserved San Francisco residents(Alemany Farm); a program to send physical therapists to the Democratic Republic of Congo (The Rehabilitation Initiative); a free women’s health clinic (The Women’s Community Clinic); an organization that helps homeless San Francisco youth build lives of excellence (At The Crossroads); and a volunteer legal aid program for the homeless (General Assistance Advocacy Project ).
Our past events let us test how music can motivate and galvanize a community of active citizens. Past experience also verified the significant need among grassroots nonprofit organizations for the capacity building and support services that Party Corps provides. Many grass roots non-profits do exceptionally important work, but they often lack institutional capacity to raise funds and expand their support network. By producing music-based events, and hosting education and outreach services on our website, we work to connect Good Causes to new supporters, while spreading education about the great work of the Good Causes.
The need among grassroots NGOs for more funding and access to new potential supporters is well matched with the interest of music-lovers to put their entertainment dollars to work in support of good causes. Finally, these needs are paired with the desire among musicians to reach new audiences, to communicate with listeners in new ways, and to give back to the community.
Now, we’re launching the next generation of Party Corps with a new website, new events, and a growing board and – soon – staff to help us better meet our mission: connecting good people to good causes through music. Join our email list or our social media feeds to stay in the loop.
