Project AMPLIFI Board Members
Leila is the Founder and Executive Director of Project AMPLIFI. She is an ocean conservation attorney and co-founding partner of Clear Resource Law. She is also a co-owner of Smiley's Saloon & Hotel, the oldest bar West of the Mississippi and partner venue for Project AMPLIFI. While earning her law degree, she became obsessed with finding innovative ways to educate, inspire and motivate the public about community and philanthropic work. She turned to her love of music and social gatherings as a powerful way to engage the public and generate support for small and growing nonprofit organizations.
Megan is an architectural designer currently working in architecture, set design, and furniture fabrication. She has worked in a bicycle-related technology start up as well as in media production. Having grown up in San Francisco, she has long been involved in local non-profit arts organizations. Her early experiences as a classically trained dancer helped shape her appreciation for the power of music to motivate as well as move people.
Matt has spent the past decade advising, promoting, and launching high-social impact startups. He is currently a Senior Manager of Customer Experience at Concur. Previously, he co-founded and was CEO of Hear It Local, which worked to empower fans, promoters, and music venues to hire local musicians for live music events. Prior to launching Hear It Local, Matt spent six years supporting startups that solve major social problems as a Director of Investors’ Circle, a network of early-stage impact investors.
Nancy is a project producer with a strong background in fundraising, partnerships, and project management in a start-up environment. Nancy is Chief of Staff & Director of Communications at Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Previously she engaged in event production and corporate administration at SF Music Tech Summit and web-services company, Echo. She also served as executive director at non-profits PhotoPhilanthropy and the Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund (SV2). Nancy was part of the founding team at the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and served as the West Coast Regional Manager for Development at Conservation International, institutional gifts manager at the Asian Art Museum, and consultant at Accenture. She is a founding member of One Sky Giving Circle and a volunteer fundraiser at The Nueva School.
Stephanie is a music event production manager and a social services specialist with a passion for civic engagement. She currently works as a Booking Coordinator at Live Nation Entertainment. She has also worked with Live Nation and CBS Radio on tour coordination, sales, and sponsorship cultivation. Stephanie received a Master of Public Administration in Urban Studies/Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts in Speach Communication and Rhetoric, both from San Francisco State University.
Joe is the manager of the popular San Francisco-based rock band The Stone Foxes. A highly sought after filmmaker and producer, his work includes music videos for Jim James and Washed Out. Joe recently completed his first feature film, serving as the Music Supervisor for Warner Brothers’ “Batkid Begins.” The critically-acclaimed film features music from the likes of Hans Zimmer, Andrew Bird and Holy Ghost. Prior to management, Joe was Music Director and DJ for KSAN 107.7 FM where he created, coordinated and produced on-air fundraising efforts and raised more then 1.5 Million for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Children's Hospital Oakland, Breast Cancer Fund and American Red Cross.
Project AMPLIFI Staff
Alexis Shoemate is Project AMPLIFI's Operations Director. Alexis leads Project AMPLIFI's organizational capacity by managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring the implementation of Project AMPLIFI's mission and vision. With a strong passion for independent music and developing bands, she loves being part of the team that curates and delivers the Musician Residency programs. Alexis received her PhD in Organizational Psychology and has over a decade of experience in nonprofit consulting and applied research settings. Additionally, she has contributed extensively to a variety of community engagement activities, including social justice and environmental movements.
Joseph Pineda (JP) is Project AMPLIFI's Manager of Music and Strategic Partnerships, JP cultivates relationships with strategic partners and music industry contacts for collaboration with Project AMPLIFI, including major labels and their artists and independent labels and artists. Additionally, JP is the Founder and Chief Creative Officer of the Carmelita Group--a boutique, full-service strategy, branding, and marketing firm that specializes in consulting for socially innovative nonprofits and brands. Throughout his career he has been recognized as a leader and innovator--entrusted with creating and launching company initiatives in the music and sports industry, as well as the nonprofit sector.
Olivia Swilley is Project AMPLIFI's Community Partner Manager. Her entire professional career has been dedicated to working with and on behalf or individuals and organizations serving vulnerable communities. Olivia’s role at Project AMPLIFI is to build the Good Cause Directory and to foster relationships with grassroots organizations we seek to build lasting, supportive relationships with.
